'Holy Goat' linocut
The inspiration for Holy Goat has come from a variety of sources, looking at medieval illuminated manuscripts and giving animals halos, but also a play on words relating to 'holy ghost', but the halo can also be interpretated as a large golden moon behind the goat. I love the fact that there are several interpretations for this image.
For the goat himself I used, with kind permission, a beautiful photograph taken by Belanorqua, based in Poland. You can find her, and her stunning photographs, on Facebook and Instagram.
Holy Goat is the first in a series of Holy Animals.
It is a (variable) limited edition of 20 prints and all have the gold metallic shining halo around the goat (or a sun/moon?). The metallic ink catches the light beautifully; it really shimmers...as the angled photo shows, (more background colours to come). The goat can come in a variety of different background colours.
Your print will arrive carefully protected in cellophane with a backboard to support it (no mount). The size of the image itself is 20cm x 29cm, printed on A3, 80gsm acid-free Japanese Simili paper which is an off white/ivory colour, beautifully smooth and fairly fine.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a handmade print and is not a digital reproduction. You are buying an original piece of artwork. As is the nature of handprinted artwork, there can be small slight variations between each print even though they are essentially the same, caused by varying pressure and ink application. You will a receive a print almost identical to that seen in the photo but not necessarily that exact print used for the photo (if that makes sense?)
Whilst every care is taken in photographing the artwork please be aware that colours can vary according to your monitor settings. All copyright remains with the artist.
